South Edmond Street - Taylor, Texas This project consisted of developing 85 acres in Taylor, Texas into an industrial subdivision. The main items of construction included an industrial collector roadway with associated drainage and utility improvements, grading and re-routing of an existing waterway, and reclaiming several acres of land from the 100-year floodplain. The total street length designed for the industrial park was 2,700 linear feet. The proposed street section consisted of 40’ of pavement with curb and gutter and sidewalk. Street drainage was captured and conveyed by curb inlets and storm drains. A tributary of Mustang Creek bisected the tract and box culverts were installed under the roadway at the tributary crossing. Approximately 2,800 linear feet of channel improvements were designed to reduce the floodplain across the tract and reduce excessive erosion.

38th Street Sidewalk Improvements - Austin TX This project involves the design of 800 feet of sidewalk improvements along 38th Street from Shoal Creek Blvd to the bus stop adjacent to the 26 Doors shopping center. RC&A prepared the sidewalk layout and grading plan, traffic control plan, landscape re-planting plan for existing plants lost due to sidewalk construction, coordinated with the adjacent residential and commercial landowners to inform them of the proposed improvements, and addressed City review comments. The project site is characterized by narrow right of way, significant elevation change between the back of curb and property line, concentrated storm water runoff discharging from the adjacent property to 38th Street, and utility poles along the route. RC&A was able to design around all these factors and prepared a set of sidewalk improvement documents that met the neighborhood’s concerns and ADA requirements.
